Jupiter lens history
Jupiter 8 universal normal fast lens for small-format rangefinder camera such as "Zorki" and "Kiev". Equipped with iris. Two-ring aperture control. Coated optics. Focus has largely been eliminated by the chromatic and spherical aberration and curvature of image field.
The lens is "Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1:2 / 5 cm" for Contax cameras were designed in the early 1930s, Ludwig Berthelot (Ludwig Bertele). Documentation for many German lenses (which included, among others, and Sonnar 2 / 5 cm), together with the technology, materials and equipment for their production have been obtained in the Soviet Union by way of reparations. At the beginning of production at KMZ and labeled - "LC" - "Zonnar Krasnogorsk."
