Jupiter lens history
Swap super fast Jupiter 3 lens with coated optics for rangefinder cameras. Equipped with iris. Renamed trophy lens Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1,5 / 50. Initially produced under the name LC (Zonnar Krasnogorskij), then - Jupiter lens. In 1954, in connection with the exhaustion of stocks of captured optical glass, has been recalculated under the domestic. At the same time was a slightly modified design of the rim, in particular - redone diaphragm setting ring. Serial production of the modified version began in 1955. Since 1956, the lens produced Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant (ZOMZ, Zagorsk now - Sergiev Posad), and since the late 1970's - the Valdai factory "Jupiter."
