Equipped with iris, in the version for SLR cameras - more "jumping" diaphragm.   Lens is of Tessar design. It is a moderately fast lens with high resolution and high image quality. The optical components are made of LANTHANUM (that’s what the “L” in its name stands for) glass, which provides for more even resolution at both the centre and edges of the field. The lens is fitted with a diaphragm preselection device. Resolution and colour saturation are excellent. Having the I-61-L/Z is like having an updated Tessar: faster maximum aperture (f/2,8 instead of f/3,5), efficient anti-reflection coating, and modified glass formula make for a very high quality lens. Though it can focus to as close as 0,30 metres, the I-61-L/Z is not a true “macro lens”. It is just a close-focusing lens. Its field isn’t flat enough at close distances to make it a true macro, but it does well enough for most close-up applications. Industar-61-L/Z is normally monocoated. The multicoated version is marked “MC”.
