Sony Alpha lens

Lenses Minolta Bayonet A (Sony A) - part of an autofocusing system Minolta AF, which has found use in cameras produced since 1985 by Minolta, later - Konica Minolta and now - Sony Alpha. Minolta A lens mount provides electrical and mechanical connection of the lens and camera. Electrical contacts provide the transmission of information about the focal length, aperture, focus distance, the unique identifier of the lens and power supply. The mechanical coupling provides the focus and iris control with built-in camera body motor. All lenses and camera mount Minolta A issued in 1985 by companies Minolta, Konica Minolta and Sony compatible. Some combinations of lenses and cameras have limitations (some functions may not be available). Modern lenses often include the latest technology used in global obektivostroenii, such as low-dispersion optical elements, ultrasonic focusing motor, etc.

Sony Alpha lens mount provides electrical and mechanical connection of the lens and camera. Electrical coupling is carried out with 5 or 8 contact pads on the lens and the corresponding contacts on the bayonet camera. As originally used 5-way version is provided by the transmission of information about the focal length, aperture, the unique identifier of the lens. Later were added to the 3 pins to provide additional power and transmission of additional information in the lens with the functions of D, SSM and auto-zoom. Any combination of 8 and 5-pin cameras and lenses is efficient, but using 5-pin camera features an 8-part contact lenses are not available. The mechanical coupling is necessary for the force with built-in camera lens motors to control the lens aperture and focus. There are also lenses with built-in ultrasonic focusing motor.
